  • Individual and group work with guided feedback and support

  • Embodied exploration of the principles and practices of yoga

  • Skill-building for effectively instructing a Power Yoga class

  • Development of leadership skills—learning to lead yourself and others with clarity and integrity

Courtney brings years of experience training Power Yoga teachers, with an emphasis on presence, responsibility, and the ability to be for others. Her approach blends clear instruction with mentorship, creating a learning environment that is both challenging and supportive.

She views teacher training as an opportunity to develop leaders who teach from authenticity rather than performance—and who understand yoga as a practice of growth, service, and connection.

Courtney is assisted in facilitating the training by other teachers at Grow Yoga. She has trained extensively with her mentors from Lit From Within Yoga Academy for years and is now a Studio Partner of their school.

Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is designed to balance self-directed study, collaborative learning, and in-person practice, supporting both depth of understanding and real-world application.

Between training weekends, students complete self-directed and group-based work within assigned timeframes. This work includes reading, writing, physical practice, meditation, journaling, and opportunities to lead yoga classes—allowing learning to be integrated gradually rather than absorbed all at once.

Group work sessions are scheduled collaboratively based on the availability of the full group. Learning teams are intentionally assigned and re-assigned throughout the training to support adaptability, communication, and shared responsibility.

To support study and reflection, the training draws from a carefully curated selection of texts that deepen understanding of yoga, leadership, and personal development. A complete list of required and recommended reading is provided to all enrolled participants prior to the start of the program.

This approach ensures that learning is embodied, retained, and immediately applicable, rather than theoretical or short-lived.
